Fire Warden
Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Warden, tailored specifically for their type of workplace. This course meets the requirements of the AS3745-2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities and the AS4083-2010 Planning for emergencies – Health Care Facilities and participants can choose to undertake nationally accredited or site specific non-accredited training to suit their needs.
Certification
Option 1:
For accredited training, on successful completion students will receive a Statement of Attainment for the nationally recognised unit of competency PUAFER005- Operate as part of an emergency control organisation.
Option 2:
For non-accredited training, on completion students will receive a Certificate of Participation in the Fire Warden roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications are issued by Safety Training Solution RTO#40590.

Option 1 – Accredited Training – Onsite face to face
- 4 hours (Fire Warden & Fire Extinguisher)
Option 2 – Site Specific Non-accredited Training – Onsite face to face
- 2 hours (Fire Warden & Fire Extinguisher)

Course Overview
This course can be run onsite at your location as either a nationally accredited course or a site specific no-accredited course. This course provides the essential knowledge and skills to effectively manage and respond to workplace emergencies. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Warden and the safe selection and use of a fire extinguisher and can be tailored specifically for their facility.
Course Outline
- Identifying and responding to emergency signals and warnings
- Fire, bomb threat, and other emergencies and their effects on the workplace
- Human behaviour in fires and emergency events
- Initiating and controlling the initial emergency response
- Evacuation and assembly principles and procedures
- Workplace fireboards and fire equipment location(s)
- Making arrangements for people requiring assistance
- Fire warden identification techniques
- Accounting for all building occupants
- Evacuation reporting
- Assessing the incident response and applying learnings to improve workplace emergency procedures.
